About this book
Thomas Reed has been dead for sixty winters when someone knocks on the lighthouse door.
No boat has landed. The causeway lies beneath storm water. And the voice outside belongs to his drowned son.
Inside the tower, two stranded inspectors are investigating the lighthouse before its demolition. One carries a surname Thomas has spent decades hating—the name of the man he blames for his death and the ferry disaster that followed.
As the storm cuts the power, something approaches from the reef. It knows familiar voices. It knows how to turn longing into an invitation. And it needs someone to open the door.
But the sea creature Thomas has always feared is trying to show him something: a memory that could overturn everything he believes about his son’s final moments.
To protect the living, Thomas must resist revenge, confront the truth buried in the tower, and help restore the light before the darkness finds its way inside.
When the Lighthouse Knocked is the fifth standalone story in the Halloween Collection, an atmospheric coastal tale of grief, deception, and an unexpected guardian in the water.
